A former high school educator, Regional Sales Specialist Amy Anderson has been with Gaggle since early 2018. Partnering with districts in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, Amy strives to make district-issued technology safer for today’s students.

We asked Amy five questions to get to know a little more about her and her time with Gaggle. Here’s what she had to say:

What are three words to describe Gaggle?

  • Caring: I think every single person who works at Gaggle has a heart for our mission and genuinely wants to help districts protect students.
  • Innovative: As a company, we are constantly thinking of new ways we can serve. On the Sales side, we’re always looking to improve our efforts to help reach more districts.
  • Fun: The work that we do is serious, but the people and the relationships make it fun.

What drew you to Gaggle?
I used to be a classroom teacher and found myself overwhelmed by a lot of the social and emotional issues—and unprepared to deal with those issues. Following a move to a new state, I felt like I was at a crossroads and wasn’t sure whether I wanted to continue in the classroom or move on to something else. I knew I wanted to be in education in some capacity, and I was blown away when I first learned about Gaggle. After hearing the success stories, I thought about every kid I’d seen as an educator and realized that Gaggle would have been a really helpful tool to have. I immediately knew it was something every single school in the country needed and I wanted to be part of that somehow.

What have you gained from working at Gaggle?
I have gained a sense of responsibility to help get the word out about Gaggle. I also have this need to help administrators—we always say, “You don’t know what you don’t know.” I want administrators to know we have this tool that might be able to help save them some time in their day and, more importantly, be able to help identify students who they may not realize are in crisis. To give administrators that power is really important to me.

What is your proudest moment at Gaggle?
I had a district come on board following a tragic event. To be a resource for them and be able to help them during an unthinkable time was incredibly rewarding. From a more personal perspective, I just experienced my first year as a working mom. Being able to meet my goals while working for a company that’s so supportive feels really great.

What is your favorite memory at Gaggle?
There are so many! As a remote employee, I’d have to say the times we get together as a company for those in-person moments. Being able to see each other is just the best.

While Amy loved the core of teaching, her experience left her feeling as though the actual teaching was a small percentage of what teachers actually do. At Gaggle, she’s able to take a different approach to education. “I feel like I’m still teaching every day, just in a different way,” she said. “We’re here to help and serve in any capacity we can.”
